Professional Background and Accolades
Sebastian Miller represents workers in employment litigation on a contingency-fee basis. He litigates both class actions as well as single-plaintiff cases in the areas of discrimination, retaliation and wage and hour violations. In 2015, Sebastian was named to the Northern California Rising Stars List by Super Lawyers Magazine. In addition, he achieved the Lead Counsel Rating in Labor & Employment Law and a “Superb” Avvo Rating.
Sebastian is located in Santa Clara, California and litigates cases throughout California. A Bay Area native, Sebastian graduated from UCLA in 2005, where he played on the men’s volleyball team, and graduated from the University of Chicago Law School in 2008, where he was awarded a John M. Olin Fellowship in Law and Economics and received other academic awards related to the quality of his writing. Sebastian currently serves as an Instructor of Law at Lincoln Law School in San Jose.
Legal Experience and Credentials
Sebastian often speaks and writes about developments in employment law. For example, his work has appeared in the California Labor & Employment Law Review and the Daily Journal. Sebastian has been quoted by Law360 and has appeared on panels hosted by the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Labor and Employment Section of the California Bar as well as various organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area that educate entrepreneurs about legal matters.
Prior to founding his own practice, Sebastian spent seven years working as an employer-side lawyer at large law firms, including Goodwin Procter and Dewey & LeBoeuf. Sebastian’s time as an employer-side lawyer helps him anticipate how a defendant will analyze a claim and leverage his client’s case accordingly. During his “biglaw” experience, Sebastian often worked with emerging Silicon Valley companies and high net worth individuals—representing them in both litigation and compliance matters. He also worked on scores of M&A transactions and developed a special expertise advising on the employment law issues attendant to them.
